Description
Unlock the full potential of your N20 with the Catless Downpipe. Designed for F-chassis BMW models running the N20 2.0L twin-scroll turbo four, this catless downpipe eliminates the restrictive factory catalytic converter and opens up real power, faster spool, and the proper turbo-four soundtrack the OEM exhaust completely buries. The foundational mod for any Stage 2 N20 build — F30 328i, F32 428i, F22 228i, F10 528i, and X-Series 28i.
Key Features:
* Catless High-Flow Design: Removes the restrictive OEM catalytic converter. Faster turbo spool, reduced backpressure, and noticeable top-end gains. Typical Stage 2 builds see 20-35 WHP and 25-35 WTQ improvements when paired with a proper tune.
* N20 Sound Transformation: Unmuffles the N20 turbo four. Deeper exhaust note, audible turbo spool, blow-off chatter, and the pronounced overrun pops that BMW engineered out of the factory exhaust.
* F-Chassis Specific Engineering: Built specifically for F-series N20 chassis layouts and exhaust routing. NOT cross-compatible with E-chassis N20 cars (E84 X1 28i, E89 Z4 28i) — exhaust geometry, flange placement, and length differ.
* 3" T304 Stainless Construction: Mandrel-bent piping with CNC-machined OEM flanges, hand TIG-welded throughout. Corrosion-proof, heat-tolerant, built to handle high-boost builds and sustained track use.
* Direct OEM Flange Fitment: Bolts straight to the OEM turbo outlet and stock mid-pipe section. No cutting, no welding, no custom fabrication required. Compatible with both RWD and xDrive variants.
* Stage 2 Build Foundation: Required for serious tune levels. Pairs perfectly with MHD, JB4, Bootmod3, FMIC upgrades, and intake systems. The first step in unlocking what the N20 is actually capable of.
IMPORTANT COMPLIANCE NOTE: Catless downpipes are designed for OFF-ROAD / TRACK USE ONLY. Removes the catalytic converter required for road registration in Australia and most international markets. NOT legal for road-registered vehicles. Will trigger check engine lights and emissions codes without proper tuning.
TUNE REQUIRED: To unlock full power potential and clear fault codes, a custom or off-the-shelf tune (MHD, JB4, Bootmod3, etc.) is required after fitment.

Two minutes of double-checking beats a return.
What if I order the wrong part?
It happens. As long as the part is unused and in original packaging, return it within 30 days for a full refund or swap.
If our fitment guide on the site was inaccurate, we cover return shipping. If it was a wrong selection on your end, return shipping is on you.
Do you offer fitment guarantees?
Yes. If our site confirms a part fits your vehicle and it doesn't, we pay return shipping both ways and either find you the right part or give you a full refund. Just send photos showing the fit issue.
OEM vs. aftermarket, what's the difference?
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are made by, or for your car's factory and match the original spec.
Aftermarket parts are made by third-party companies and often offer better performance, more options, or lower prices.
We carry both, and we'll tell you straight which one makes sense for your build.
Are parts new, used, or refurbished?
Everything we sell is brand new unless the listing specifically says "used" or "refurbished."
Used and refurb items are clearly labeled and priced accordingly, no surprises.
Performance claims (HP gains, etc.) How are they measured?
Power, torque, and other performance numbers come straight from manufacturer dyno testing on the specific platform listed.
We don't make up gains or recycle marketing fluff. If the claims look too good to be true, we don't carry the part.
Do you offer installation?
We don't run a shop ourselves, but we work with trusted installers across the US & Australia.
Email us your zip code and the part you bought at info@nuroperformance.com and we'll point you to a vetted shop nearby.
Will this void my factory warranty?
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer can't void your entire warranty just because you installed an aftermarket part.
They CAN deny coverage on a specific component if the aftermarket part directly caused the failure.
Translation: an exhaust won't void your transmission warranty, but a tune might affect your powertrain coverage.
If you're not sure, talk to your dealer before installing.
